Joss & Dan – DIY Farm Wedding

I was very excited about this wedding day, not only because Joss and Dan were such a fun couple but also because it was at their home farm with all the animals.

I am a HUGE animal lover, especially horses and I knew from the get-go that this was a huge part of their day, both wanted numerous photos with their beloved animals, and I was not disappointed, we had horses, dogs, goats, and pigs to name a few.

This Wedding Day was all about having fun, they had planned it around the idea of being a festival, wrist bands were made with a cleaver twist to their new marital surname, appropriately calling their wedding day “Cookchella”. Every guest including myself was given a wristband to gain entry, I felt like a VIP which made it even more special.

Traditional was a must when it came to the ceremony, this took place at their local church, which had been decorated with the most amazing flower arrangements and bows, it also had the most detailed windows I’ve seen in a church for a while, so we did make this a focus for some of their portraits after the service.

Like I said, from the get-go, this wedding was all about having fun, relaxing and spending time with family and loved ones.

Joss and Dan opted for a large tipi tent to host their wedding reception; this was great as it allowed for their ideas to shine though. We had straw bales for seats, a large firepit for marshmallow roasting, festoon lighting everywhere and Boho styled tables for their BBQ wedding breakfast.

What I found most incredible about this wedding day was how everyone had rallied together to make sure both Joss and Dan had the best day ever, the groom’s dad was the DJ, the local pub provided the bar and the brides mum made sure that all the animals looked their best.

They always say that farmers know how to have a good party, and this lot definitely did!

I was spoilt all day with too many photo opportunities to name, plus a lot of “funky” dance moves come the evening, I didn’t leave the dance floor for hours!

I ended my day leaving them under the stars enjoying the warm summer evening.

Behind every wedding comes a whole team of suppliers giving their best to make sure everyone has a fabulous day, for this wedding I was spoilt with a great group of suppliers who made my job so much easier on the day and gave me so many opportunities to capture some beautiful memories.
